Hi, I'm Bonnie.
I’m in love with bodies — the way they work, how they evolve, what’s possible, how everything (past just the physical) is connected, and the miracle that we even get this experience.
And I adore teaching — how I get a front-row seat to witness others work with their bodies, their sense of belonging, the stories in their heads, how they give themselves permission, and how they play with freedom and control.
I’m obsessed with helping others find flow state, celebration in the process, and owning the hell out of their voice.
But damn, it’s been a journey to get here.
When I became a mom at age 22 and had three little kids by the time I was 27, I was not paying attention to any of this. As a full-time caregiver, I played with ideas between naps and dinner: I started a blog showcasing aprons I made, recipes I was trying, and the occasional home project like making a tufted headboard and painting monogram walls. I’ve always loved a good experiment.
Being a mom has impacted everything I do.
Kids mirror you.
You cannot escape seeing how you are (or are not) embodied. You gotta own your shit.
Fast forward…
At this point, I have been a teacher of teachers and a movement instructor for over 1,300 people over 11 years. I have created a school of yoga called Flow School that fills the large gap in teacher education and embodiment, with over 500 alumni. I’ve traveled across the United States, London, and Switzerland to guide trainings in person. I have a 5.5-year-old online studio with over 550 classes in it for both students and teachers. I have an instagram account with over 101K followers that was a total surprise, but has changed my life by the very real relationships I’ve been able to build. I’ve intimately mentored yoga leaders as they’ve built their own online businesses, elevated and grown their studio communities, and created from a heart-centered, authentic, and real-human experience. I’ve sold out 4 retreats, and my podcast, Yoga Strong, just celebrated its 6th birthday.
And I feel like I’m just getting started.
In between this and mom things, I’m an idea person…meaning that I never lack for something I could do, make, or try. I paint watercolor circles, organize events like ecstatic dance or a naked art gallery, write poetry, paddleboard, dance in my kitchen, make my mom’s favorite rolls, and help other people figure out their next steps in crafting a creative life.
Other people inspire the hell out of me.
When I see someone do something cool, it’s never “I wish I were like that.” Instead, it’s “what’s my thing gonna be.” When other people are doing what they love, and it’s smart AF, I see it.
Someone had started a school, and I asked myself, “What’s my school gonna be?” (Flow School)
Someone made a Netflix show, and I asked myself, “What’s my show gonna be about?” (still TBD)
Someone wrote a book, and I asked myself, “When am I going to publish mine?” (coming soon…)
Someone got on a stage, and I asked myself, “What’s my talk titled?” (time to find a stage)
We give each other permission.
We want real.
Perfect is boring.
I have found that most people find me when they are in the middle of a life transition.
Sure, in yoga I focus hugely on transitions, but that mirrors life. The magic is in the middle…and I’m not sure we’re ever out of the middle. But I do think that as we keep going, we become more of who we are.
I know some things about transitions.
Nine years ago, I had a faith transition from the Mormon church. Three years after that, I got divorced. In the past couple of years, I’ve sent my oldest to college, navigated a breakup, lost my mom unexpectedly, and started dating a woman.
I’m an and person. Things can be exciting and terrifying. The “and” expands everything.
I am here to be an expander.
And I truly believe that we don’t do this alone. I am in the learning seat at the same time I’m in the leading seat.
If you’re into doing less, better, you’ve come to the right place.
When you step into the room with me, I’m big on un-shaming the parts of you that have felt too big. I believe they’re your gifts, and the bolder you are with your voice and creating the life you love, the better world we make together.
I’m here to help you build a home (aka trust) in yourself and create impact with deep integrity and authenticity by owning the hell out of your voice.
Let’s do cool shit together,
